We're Here to Support

Counselling is a place where you can explore your unique experience of life events and how that now affects you in your day to day life. You can take a deeper look inside yourself to gain a better understanding of your responses and behaviours in relation to these experiences and how you may want to change them.

Alongside our talking therapy we use a range of creative tools and techniques to help you express yourself when you find you run out of words.

Our Advice

1

Consistency

All sessions will be held on the same day and at the same time.  This will help you to prioritise your counselling journey.  It also helps with building a therapeutic connection with your counsellor.

Consistency means you get to build on the previous sessions and therefore gives better outcomes.

2

Confidentiality

Counselling is a safe place for you to share your whole self and know what you share is kept in that counselling room.

The only exceptions to this is around safeguarding concerns.

This will be explained in your Initial Consultation

3

Be Curious

We encourage you to be curious about yourself, your feelings and behaviours.

When you take time to pause and notice what is going on you then have a choice.  Do I stay as I am or is this something I want to change?

4

Owning Your Therapy

Even though it can be scary we encourage you to come to counselling prepared to explore the deeper parts of yourself.

A counselling session is your space to take time to invest in yourself, to grow in awareness and understanding and to chooses the changes you want to make.

5

A Bumpy Journey

During counselling things can feel a bit worse before it gets better.  This can be due to you connecting more to your feelings and growing in awareness of the issues you are addressing.

This can be part of the process of change.

Testimony

I'd decided to have counselling after I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. I felt safe as well as empowered to work through things myself
